Summertime!!!

Well, it has been a busy summer at the Hawkins house!! We have had dance competitions, a trip to the beach, a trip to the mts, and just everyday life!  Abby successfully finished 6th grade... she received several awards at the end of the year assembly... she received the A honor roll for the entire year, she received the good character/good citizenship award, and she also received the highest average in her class for both Math and Language Arts.  We were very proud of her!! The twins have moved up to the K-4 class in pre school and are very excited that they are now in the "Big Kid" class.  It is hard  to believe that next year at this time I will be getting  ready to send them to kindergarten!  They are excited about Bible School starting on Sunday- The theme is "Rev it up" and there are lots of cars and race stuff... I am sure they will enjoy it!!

Here is Abby and her best friend, Kensley at a birthday party for Rodney's aunt and uncle... Roger turned  80, and Peggy turned 79, so we celebrated with dinner and cake! Everyone enjoyed themselves, as you can see!!

Although these may look like milk mustaches, don't be fooled... the girls were dipping vegetables in ranch dressing, and decided to drink the dressing in the cup!! They enjoyed the party immensely, as you can tell! Delaney is in the pink and Vivian is in the white...

Here are Vivian and Delaney before their dance recital... they took Tap and Ballet classes this past year, and had lots of fun! They are going to start acro in a few weeks... that seems more their speed with tumbling and jumping!!

 Here are the girls in the creek playing, at Linville Caverns... the water was a bit chilly, but it was still fun to play in and throw rocks!! 

This was a huge stump we found while hiking up to Linville Falls... We hiked about 0.8 mile to see the falls, and then of course had to come back down the mountain... with it thundering and with 2 tired 4 year olds who wanted to stop every 30 seconds! They were so tired by the time we got to the car!  But, it was really pretty, and hopefully we can do it again when they have a little more stamina!

Here is Vivian playing with the glow in the dark chalk that we got for the 4th of July! It was very cool, you just mix it up, wait about 30 minutes and draw your heart out in the dark... it glowed for a while after we finished... even the  "big kids" enjoyed doing this!!



I have been trying to post Abby's solo for clogging, but am having some trouble... I will try to do it later... I will get it up at some point! Take care everyone, and stay cool this weekend!
